Three-dimensional design that visually progresses along with the self-authored narrative. The steel is strong, and in the beginning it is painted. Progressively the plates wear off the skin-colored paint, and it is beaten up.
“I have beaten my body by taking thousands of steps on its strenuous surface.” The goal was to literally show something being overcome and broken. As the series continues the steel is burned and eventually the last piece is smashed through. This represents achievement. Not only because it is close to impossible to break steel with hand tools, but it is also a story of perseverance.
